The new General Director of TEMA Foundation has become Ms. Didem Bilgin who has been acting as Deputy General Director for three years.

Ms. Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş, who has undertaken important duties for many years at the TEMA Foundation since its establishment left her position at the Foundation, handing over the position of general director to Didem Bilgin.

Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş said the following about the change, "In 12 years, we have carried our Foundation forward by implementing many projects with the support of our volunteers from all over the country. I would like to thank the entire TEMA Family and Didem Bilgin, who will take over the position and wish her success."

Making a statement about the change of duty, Deniz Ataç, Chair of the Board of Directors of the TEMA Foundation, said, "As TEMA Foundation, we are working for a more livable future by advocating for the right to access more fertile lands, clean air and water. We will continue to improve our activities even further under the leadership of our new General Director Didem Bilgin. On behalf of the entire TEMA Family, I would like to thank Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş for her valuable contributions to our Foundation."

Didem Bilgin, who has been involved in civil society for over 20 years and has successfully served as Deputy General Director at TEMA Foundation for the last three years, said the followings about her new position, "Following in the footsteps of our Foundation's Founding Honorary Chairs, the deceased Hayrettin Karaca and the deceased A. Nihat Gökyiğit, we will continue to raise awareness and advocate for environmental awareness in our country with our more than 1,100,000 volunteers, all our supporters and colleagues."

About Didem Bilgin

Didem Bilgin was born on October 5, 1977 and graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering. She completed her master’s degree in business administration at İstanbul University. Actively involved in civil society for over 20 years, Bilgin has held various positions at different levels within the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) and has successfully served as Deputy General Director at TEMA Foundation for the last three years.
