Educational Activities

An educational presentation and film were developed as part of the project designed for primary school children. In this way, it was aimed to help children to understand the importance of water and to gain awareness of what can be done to protect it.

Sutema.org Website

A website with infographics was designed to raise awareness among wider audience on water ecosystems, water problems, sustainable management of water and water literacy and to spread this awareness. The free-access website is available at “www.sutema.org”. Consisting of 8 sections, sutema.org includes 46 infographics on many topics such as water resources, water cycle, water ecosystems, water use in Türkiye and the world, water threats, sustainable management of water and protection of water resources.

In addition, there are sections on the website specifically designed for children and teachers called “For Children” and “For Teachers”. These sections include a film produced for primary school children to offer information about the properties of water, where it exists, the water cycle and how to save water in our homes. The “For Teachers” section also includes a presentation with information that teachers share with children so that they can learn about the importance of water for life, the water ecosystem, water pollution, water conservation, water sustainability and to develop awareness about water footprints.

There is also a section on the website where users can test themselves on water literacy and become water volunteers with images to be shared on social media.
