Resilient Eskişehir Against Climate Change is implemented in collaboration with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and TEMA Foundation. The project is funded by the European Union and coordinated by UNDP, under the leadership of the Union of Turkish Municipalities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Directorate for EU Affairs.

The main goal of the project is to enhance Eskişehir’s resilience to climate change and to strengthen the city’s adaptation capacity through nature-based solutions. Within this framework, climate change projections for Eskişehir will be prepared, vulnerable areas and populations at risk will be identified, and risk maps will be produced. Adaptation and mitigation strategies will also be developed and integrated into the 2025–2029 Strategic Action Plan of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality.

Training programs for municipal staff and TEMA Foundation employees will strengthen technical capacity, while skills in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Technologies will be enhanced. Throughout the project, meetings will be held with NGOs, the city council, neighborhood assemblies, and the public. A panel will be organized to share project results, and a Climate Action Center will be established in Eskişehir.

Awareness-raising materials produced within the project will reach a wide audience through public transportation screens, billboards, social media, and local media outlets. Surveys conducted at the beginning and end of the project will assess public knowledge and awareness regarding the climate crisis. The results will be shared at a closing meeting attended by representatives from the public and civil society, where opportunities for future collaboration will also be discussed.
