Hatice Meral Gezgin

After graduating from Sankt Georg Austrian High School in 1977, Meral GEZGİN graduated with a master's degree from Vienna University of Economics, where she studied with a scholarship from the Austrian government.

She received her master's degree from Boğaziçi University in 1982-83.

She worked in various departments in the family company Hilal Group since 1983, became a Board Member of group companies in 1987 and Chairperson of the Board of Directors since 2003. She served as the first female Assembly member of the İstanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) in 1989 and as the first female board member of ICI in 1994-1996.

She served as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of the Economic Development Foundation in 1994-1996 and became the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of İKV in 1997-2003.

She served as a member of the board of directors of the Foreign Economic Relations Board in 1996-2003. She has been a member of the TEMA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2001. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the TEMA Foundation in 2001-2012.

Ms. Gezgin speaks German, English and French.
