Ms. Ece Börü graduated from İstanbul Technical University, Department of Business Engineering in 1988. She started her career in 1989 at the Turkish Industrial Development Bank (TSKB) as an Assistant Financial Control Specialist; she served as Financial Control Manager in 2000, Head of the Inspection Board in 2006, and Deputy General Director between 2013-2020.
Serving as TSKB General Director and Board Member between August 2020 and April 2022, Börü was elected as the Deputy Chair of the TSKB Board of Directors afterwards. She has been serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors at TSKB Legal and Additional Foundations since 2014.
Additionally, she served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Yatırım Finansman Menkul Değerler A.Ş. between February 2012 and April 2021, as the General Representative of TÜSİAD between August 2020 and April 2022, and as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Yatırım Finansman Menkul Değerler A.Ş. between April 2021 and April 2022.
Ece Börü has also taken on active roles in many civil society organizations in the fields of energy efficiency, sustainable development and corporate governance. She has served on the boards of directors of institutions such as the Energy Efficiency Association (ENVER), the Sustainable Development Association (SKD), the Integrated Reporting Association Türkiye (ERTA) and the Corporate Governance Association of Türkiye (TKYD).
Taking on an active role in sustainable finance, women's employment and social responsibility projects, Börü has served as the SKD Women's Employment and Equal Opportunity Chair, and has also undertaken representation duties in many national and international organizations such as ADFIMI, D20–LTIC, IDFC, UN Global Compact, Türkiye Finance Managers Foundation, Impact Investment Advisory Board, Global Relations Forum (GİF), İstanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (İKSV) and TSKB Green Swan Platform.
